CODY HAS A VAN!!!

On Sunday morning, January 17, 2010, Capital City proudly presented the keys to a handicap van to the Moody family for their grandson, eight-year old Cody, who has Cerebral Palsy. One of our members, Pat Schnurbush felt led by the Holy Spirit to encourage our church family to raise the needed funds for this van. Through your prayers and contributions, we were able to raise a total of $10,919. Then, through the efforts of Kevin Boykin, who spent many, many hours on Craig’s List, he was able to find a pre-owned, lift-equipped van in good condition that we were able to purchase. The following two thank you letters tells the rest of the story!

Thank you from Pat Schnurbush following the Spaghetti lunch on January 17th:

WOW! WOW! WOW! Praise God and thanks to all of you who contributed to this cause. I had all the faith in the world God would provide a van for Cody, I just thought it would take a little longer.

Many of you were gracious in saying thank you to Lisa and me, and I appreciate it – but - it was all of you, the church body, that made this happen. The Holy Spirit strengthened me and gave me the boldness to bring it before you, but YOU made this happen through your prayers, talents, and financial resources. So thanks to all of you who listened to The Holy Spirit. I implore you to continue on that pat; and if your knowledge of Him and what part He plays within the Holy Trinity is lacking, you are missing out on what I believe to be the most powerful part of your relationship with God and Jesus.
Our small group just finished an excellent study by Charles Stanley called Relying On The Holy Spirit. The book forces you to open God’s word and study the scriptures. I promise it will change your life if you let it.

In Him

Thank you from the Moody family. (This was read at the spaghetti lunch)

Dear Beloved Church Family,

How do I even begin to express our gratitude and thanks for all that you have done for Cody and for us. We thank our Heavenly Father and dear Christian friends for such an awesome gift as the wheelchair van to help us with Cody. We are so thankful and overwhelmed with joy over it and the love that we feel from each one of you. We hope that you know how much we love and appreciate each one of you and approached each one of you who have helped make this possible. We will be eternally grateful. It is such a miracle that this task was born and completed in such a short time. We give the Lord all of the praise, honor and glory for all that He has done to make this possible. We are so thankful that Pat and his small group felt called to get this project underway and complete. The van will make our job of caring for Cody so much easier. We will thank the Lord each and every time we get in it for the wonderful love and generosity of our church family. We know the Lord had our name on that van just waiting for the right time to come to pass. We want to thank each and every one who helped to make this possible. May God bless each of you abundantly and He has blessed us. We are truly grateful to all of you.
